I will develop a social media and newsletter hybrid called “Book Bugg,” designed as a vibrant community hub for book lovers. By promoting local bookstores through newsletters and events, Book Bugg aims to blend social interaction with a focus on local literary culture. It will be accessible on both smartphones and desktops, enhancing engagement and enabling users to switch seamlessly between devices. Targeting avid readers aged 18-55, the platform will foster meaningful connections while providing a respectful space for discussions. Competitors like Goodreads and TikTok inform the design, with Book Bugg aiming to combine in-depth literary engagement with a positive community atmosphere, avoiding the pitfalls of cluttered interfaces and negative interactions found on other platforms.
